Bullet Hornady .284 (7mm) 162gr ELD-X

Hornady .284 (7mm) ELD-X 162 gr is an expanding hunting bullet with a Heat Shield tip for reloading rifle cartridges. It combines match-grade accuracy with controlled expansion at all practical hunting distances.

Key features

• bullet diameter 7.21 mm (.284 in), weight 10.5 g (162 gr)
• Heat Shield tip verified by Doppler radar – preserves a high ballistic coefficient throughout the trajectory
• secant ogive, optimised boattail and concentric AMP jackets for accuracy
• at high impact velocities (0–366 m / 0–400 yd) continuous expansion; the thick jacket shank and InterLock ring retain 50–60% of weight (per the manufacturer)
• at low velocities at extended range (over 366 m / 400 yd) the tip initiates expansion with 85–90% weight retention and deep penetration (per the manufacturer)
• G1 ballistic coefficient 0.631, G7 0.318 (per the manufacturer)
